I almost Forgot!!

Garrett and I had been planning on getting married, in fact, we had thought that we wanted to try and elope for 1/1/11... We don't have a lot of money, and don't have plans for having a lot of money for rings or a wedding, so while we were out finishing the last few things Christmas Eve, I pulled him into Penney's with him to show him a CZ ring that was for like $20. If we were going to elope, we HAD to have a ring of some sort to symbolize our love and marriage. He did not like the idea of cheap rings, he thought it was tacky. I was actually getting irritated with him because he wanted to get married, but didn't wanna spend $20 on a stupid ring. He had gone to pick up a gift earlier in the day, which made me think it was a ring, but I didn't know for sure. I kept begging for him to tell me, but he wouldn't. When I started pouting about the $20 ring, he kept telling me "your really gonna regret pouting later tonight" When I asked if he had gotten a ring, he said No. So I was bummed. Then I got over it and we headed to my moms for Christmas Eve dinner.
As I earlier posted, we ate, and then did the Nativity story. I wanted to play the piano for the music, but my mom insisted that Garrett and I be Mary and Joseph... We finished the unorganized play, and at the end I went to walk over to Kaden to help him find his gifts and Garrett grabbed me by the arm and wouldn't let go. I tried leaving a couple times and he finally got the ring "unstuck" from his pocket and went down on a knee-in front of the entire family. He then then popped the question, and even though I had suspected it, I really had no clue that he had gotten me a beautiful ring, 1 of 3 that we had looked at a couple weeks ago. I was so shocked! I was even more shocked that he had already called my mom and my dad, and my older sister, and all his friends knew about it. I was the only one not in the 'loop'. I am just glad that it was a surprise, because all I found all my Christmas gifts a few weeks ago!! So now its official, we are ENGAGED!! And no, its not gonna happen on 1/1/11 but hopefully sometime in late January or February!

Tis the Season

As with every year, Christmas Eve is always at my mom's house. We have a big dinner, usually prime rib, followed by acting out the Nativity story and then we open gifts that we have exchanged with eachother, and the kids always open up their PJ's. Christmas Eve I was on call, so we hurried along and got my home by 11pm to be sure that I was going to be available if needed. Kaden fell asleep on the way home, which made bedtime so much easier. Garrett and I spent until 3 am putting this bad boy together

We had to assemble the table, as well as the actual train city. I actually fell asleep around midnight due to a massive head cold and medicine, but woke up at 230 to help finish wrapping a few gifts and put the stockings together. At about 7:45am I was woke up to "Mommy! Mommy!!! Santa came!! He brought me a train table!! HURRY come look!" He was sooo excited I looked over at Garrett, who was also smiling, and we got out of bed to enjoy the rest of his excitement.

He played with this for a good 30 minutes before he realized there were a few more gifts of his that he could unwrap.

We were in walmart a few days ago, when he reminded me how much he wanted a "pillow pet" for Christmas. I was really glad I stuck with that plan instead of doing something different. He has slept with it every night since!

We had a wonderful Christmas this year, and we hope you all had one as well!! Time to get ready for the New Year! See you all in 2011!

Happy Halloween

I don't post often, but we have had an eventful couple of days.
So I am going to show a few of what happened.
Yesterday we went to Trick or Treat street and met up with Kyle and Jess's family.

Kaden and Robby had so much fun trick or treating together.

Then we had Trunk or Treat Saturday at the church, and then headed out for some regular door knocking!

These were some fun pumpkins when trick or treating Saturday night. They were so fun!
We went trick or treating in an old neighborhood that I lived in. Kaden was 8 months old when we moved, so we weren't aware of the festivities being held here.
Apparently, these people get vouchers and money from business to get a bunch of little gifts for the kids. Each child is allowed 1 gift, and also a bucket of chips/candy. INSANE! There was a huge line to their house, so we knew it was worth waiting for!!

This was more of the very generous people giving to their neighborhood!

Kaden and his trick or treating buddies! (cousins) Leah's on the left, Jayci's in the middle.

This is all the candy he received!! Way to much, I must say so myself!!

My handsome little devil and the Ward Trunk or Treat! :)

Garrett was a Mummy. He had a vision to sew it onto an old collar shirt and a pair of pants that no longer fit, little did he know it would take him until 5am to finish! hehe...so he's probably tired now!

Good Doggy!!

We found a dog. An awesome dog.
He wandered into Garretts work Saturday starving and thirsty.
We have dedicated a lot of time with him. He now knows sit and stay and is probably 50% potty trained.
Kaden named him Chase, because he chases him and he chases his tail! How creative!!

We have fallen in love with him, and he is just perfect for our family. We put an ad on craigslist in 2 different places, and hadn't heard anything. So Garrett took him to the vet to get checked for a chip. On the 4th try, they found one. We finally got ahold of the manufacturer who called the owner, with no answer. Garrett even went to their house. Nobody home
Finally a couple hours later, the owners son called, saying that they lost them on Tuesday (?) and that his dad is in Mexico. Yes, they are hispanic.

I guess there were 2 of them, male and female, and the female is with animal control. Garrett said the yard was horrible, and not a place for animals. We found Chase Saturday, and the son claims they went missing Tuesday. I wonder how long these little puppies were all alone before they escaped! We are hoping that when everything is said and done, these 2 adorable puppies will not be allowed back home. We have now had him for 5 days, and we hope to have him for many more! Everybody keep your fingers crossed!

This puppy needed saving, and hopefully animal control does the right thing, where the owner is out of country, and takes these cuties away!!

Darby Canyon

Today I got a wild hair to go for a hike. Both Garrett and I had the day off. So we quickly got dressed, grabbed a few things at Maverik, and headed out for Darby Canyon. This was Kadens 1st EVER hiking experience.

Darby Canyon is beautiful! It is about 2.5 miles to the Caves.

I can't remember what they call this rock, but I remember it from when I hiked with the YW.

He had lost his energy, so we sat on some rocks and he ate a snickers bar. It worked. He was able to walk almost the rest of the way to the caves.

Apparently it had just snowed there about a week before. And there was quite a bit of snow!

I honestly have no idea what his face is for! He is getting ready to throw a rock into the waterfall, that you can't really see because my cameraphone is crap!

The windcave. Kaden and I didn't actually hike into it because 1: It was supposed to be closed for some disease that bats have been dying from. Apparently they are doing some studies on the bats and the caves have been closed since the 27th of Aug. 2: The trek up this far was snowy, muddy, and slippery. It was scary enough getting this far, and it only took us probably 30 minutes to get down 100 feet!

Overall, we had a wonderful time. It was nice to get out of the house. In fact, Kaden asked if he could watch TV when we get home...looks like we need to get out a bit more!!

Cinnabun anyone?

So, I made my first batch of cinnamon rolls. That is, after trying it 4 times with no success!!!

These are the before cooked pictures.

...and these are the after! I sent them off to my moms to be taste tested by my sisters and step family. So hopefully they taste as good as they look huh! I am pretty proud of myself!

Lagoon Bound

I know its been awhile...but I decided to post about our recent trip to Lagoon.

We had been planning for quite some time to meet my sister Paige and her husband at Lagoon. It was finally the right weekend, so I bought 4 discount adult tickets from work. Originally $42.95+ tax and I got them for $35. About an hour after I bought them, Paig
e was watching a commercial (she gets Utah news) and there was a Ch 2 Appreciation week,
where it was Buy One Get One Free at Lagoon the 15th-20th! WHAT?!? I just bought ours for $70! I was bound a determined to get them sold, so we could participate in the discount.

I had a lot of calls. Just no success.

Oh well, we had already planned the amount paid into our budget, so I was trying to get over the idea that we paid more than we could have.

We woke up bright and early and headed out at about 7:1
5am. The trip was great. I ended up driving the whole way there so that Garrett could get a few more Zzz's since he'd been working doubles the past week. He had also
told his cousin we'd stop
by in Ogden for some breakfast. We arrived there, ate and ran, and then went to Lagoon.

When we got to Lagoon, it was SOOO BUSY! Holy Crap! I went to go get Kaden his ticket, where as it was cheaper than the $35, and low and behold, only the ppl that were requesting the BOGO tickets were receiving them. So Garrett decided to try and sell our tickets to someone. If they didn't know about the BOGO at least they were gonna get a few bucks off, right? AND IT
WORKED! The first people he offered them too, took them! That saved us like $28!!!!

We had so much fun there! We started off at Lagoon A Beach, where it was so busy, we knew it'd be at full capacity later if we waited.

And the best thing!! Kaden is now tall enough to ride most the kiddie rides by himself. Its funny watching a bunch of 3 and 4 year olds stand in line...they have no idea what they're doing! LOL

Kaden loved the swings, and his face was just priceless!!!

Both of us on the Carousel. You definetly have to wash your hands when your done. Yuck.

Riding the Carousel for probably the 3rd time! He loved it.

This cracked me up! There were no pedals to push, but the kids weren't grasping the idea that once you turned your wheel to get it moving, you had to straighten it out...Kaden basically just went in complete circles the entire time!

Gonna Run away...

So yesterday Kaden came up to me and asked me for a Fruit by the Foot. I had simply told him that he could have one AFTER he ate his dinner.

Then he did the unthinkable. He told me he was going to run away.

WHAT?! He's 3!!!! I didn't know 3 years olds thought that way!

I then asked where he was going to go, as I was laughing, and he told me granpas house because grandpa doesn't tell him No.

I then had to proceed at telling him that I didn't say he couldn't have one but, that he could have one AFTER he ate dinner.

I'm in for it big time with this guy, thats for sure.

Its the Best Day EVERRRRR!!!

So last week I secretly went to a job interview at EIRMC for an OB PRN Surg Tech position, which would be perfect because it is not full time, and I would be able to pick my shifts of call when I wanted too, depending on Garrett's schedule, and when he is home. The interview went well, as far as I thought, except that the Manager interviewing and I had different times wrote down, which made me nervous afterward. (I ended up coming 15 min late according to her), but 15 min early according to me.

She asked if I was Certifed. I was, up until the day before. UGH!. She said it was ok, because as long as I recertified within a year of hire. WHEW.

Then they asked me questions like, what was your most overwhelming moment, when have you had a difficult patient, what do you think your strong points are as a Tech, etc. Wowzers, these were tough ones.

She said it would be a couple of weeks before I heard back regardless because she was going to be out of town, and had several other interviews.
Oh Great.
I was the first of several.
They're gonna forget all about me.
UGH AGAIN.

I guess that my experience was a plus factor because today, after only a 3 days of waiting, they offered me the position!!! YAYA..... I have had such an excited/nervous/anxious feeling since I got off the phone with the lovely Joanna in HR.... this is amazing!!!

...now to come up with $500 to retake the certification exam. BLAH....

While I was out...

So not much has happened in a few weeks. And when I say not much, I mean not much.

I quit working at Gymboree, it just wasn't working out with our schedules, and to be quite honest, I hated it. I wasn't getting paid enough, or getting enough hours to deal with the drama. Some people may love the drama, I, however HATED it.

I am now just babysitting for a lady a few times a week, its nice because I can bring Kaden along if Garrett is at work. She has a 5 year old and a 1 year old. Its a pretty easy job, and it makes me feel like I am contributing to the household.

I have decided to start school again. Ugh I know. I have applied to a couple different places, still waiting on acceptance letters. I won't be moving anywhere for school, it'll just be around here. But I need something more, and I guess we'll find out if this is the more.

Here comes Peter Cottontail....

...hopping down the Bunny Trail...at 12:30 AM!!! Good Grief, I couldn't get Kaden to go to sleep so that we could set up for Easter. It was a long day, which then made for a long night. But when he woke up, he found eggs hidden all over the house!

It was such a fun morning...last year on Easter we were driving to Towson, Maryland. We stopped in Omaha and took Kaden to the zoo. He didn't get to egg hunt, and didn't even have a basket, so I was excited for this year!

He thought that the Easter Bunny was so funny for putting the eggs in mommy's decorations. I got a crack out of that!

And this was his Easter outfit....He is my little stuf man. I was so excited to get him dressed up that I couldn't decide whether to do it Saturday or Sunday. We stuck with Sunday. Hope everyone else had a great Holiday...I know Kaden and I did.

Happy Easter Party!!!

So It has been a few days since I have been on here...sometimes its really hard, especially when the days are super busy. Yesterday we had planned to go to the outdoor hunt, but thanks to the blizzard in Idaho, we got to spend it at my moms with an indoor hunt, and a bunch of fun games. All the little kids were there, so it was fun to watch. Except, that my child didn't want to participat in ANYTHING! He literally wasn't interested in having everyone watch him pin the egg in the basket, take a wack at the pinata, or go fishing for plastic ducks.

My Step Brother Kyle's little boy, Robby. He is a couple months older than Kaden. He is a shy little guy, but due to the events of the day, he came out and played!

My neice Saren was really taking a wack at the Pinata, she was doing good. I wondered if she was peeking!! :)

Little Leah had a lot of fun too, I think she was getting frustrated because she wasn't hitting it as much as Saren did. But I think they had loads of fun!

Pinning the Egg in the basket....

Robby was soo funny...he would lift his chin up so he could see under the blindfold! LOL

...and my little poor sport Kaden....I don't know for sure what was going on with his here...we were thinking maybe he was intimidated by having all the cousins here at once, or that maybe he was getting jealous because he wasn't the only one getting attention. He had to share the attention with everyone.

But after everyone left the room, he did manage to get the net and get some little ducks out by himself...I guess he just wanted to do it all by himself without anyone watching.

Wah Wah Wah

So Kaden had been a good boy today while I was cleaning my house...he stayed out of the way and played really well with his legos. So I gave him a dollar. He wanted to go buy a push pop. Ya know, the sucker candy that you can push out of the plastic container? I was alright with this since I wanted to rent a movie at redbox, so we took a little walk down the street to Walgreens.

We found the push pops, and right above it was a giant Lollipop. I am talking the round, multi colored, as big as your head lollipops. And to top it off, it was exactly a $1. So I thought sure... I double checked with him to make sure it was what he really wanted, and in the back of my mind I contemplated buying the push pop as well just in case he changes his mind.

As we were crossing the street in a bit of a hurry, the lollipop started to wiggle in his hand. It was then that he decided it was too big, and now he wanted the smaller push pop. I knew it.

There was a part of me that wanted so badly to turn around and get him that push pop because he had been good all day, but then the other part was telling me that I spoil him too much and I need to teach him a lesson. So I decided to teach him a lesson. He learned a lesson about being greedy...he chose the big lollipop because it was bigger. But bigger isn't always better. He has been crying now for thirty minutes, begging to get a push pop. He has thrown his lollipop in the garbage, gotten it back out(I know it sounds gross, but my garbage was basically empty), licked it a few times, threw it on the ground, broke it, then eaten it again.

I really did want to make sure he was a happy boy all day because he was so helpful, but when do we, as parents, draw the line? I felt that I was already giving him a treat, and that he was becoming undeserving of this sugary deliciousness. Am I just teaching him that he can get a treat everytime he throws a fit? I hope not, and thats why he got stuck with the lollipop.

{Listening}

Lately i found it very hard to get Kaden to listen. It doesn't matter what he is doing, whether it is a harm to himself, or one to others. He does not listen.

I can threaten all I want, it doesn't bother him. I can punish. No bother. It is literally like he can't even hear what I am saying. There is no reaction in his facial expressions when I speak to him. I ask him not to play with blinds, climb on the table, unfold folded laundry, play with household cleaners, throw toys out of the bathrub, feed his fish by himself, throw garbage away... anything. HE DOESN'T LISTEN!

I am at witts end here...I cannot think of a way to get him to listen, obey, or mind. Timeouts don't work, sending him to his room doesn't work, letting him go hungry doesn't work. Hmm... I just want him to acknowledge me.

{ It happened }

The thing I have most dreaded since I became a mother has happened... is it what we all dread? Or just me?

I remember when I was younger going to my aunts house and hearing the stories. The story how he put the fork into the outlet...I thought to myself, "So thats why there are black dots everywhere"... But I never did it, none of my sisters did it. So was it just a curious little boy thing? Or were we just fortunate enough not to have gone to that level of curiosity?

We always had safety plugs in our outlets since Kaden could crawl, and he never really bothered them. They didn't seem to have much interest in him. But I guess Sunday was the day he had planned out...the day he had been waiting for. The one where mom was at work, and while Garrett was shaving he thought it'd be a good day to shove my tweezers in the outlet.

I wasn't here, but Garrett said that the lights flickered and there was a popping noise, and Kaden came running in the bathroom yelling that they were black. What is black? The tweezers are. He willingly admitted to doing it, and told Garrett that his leg hurt. BAM! Would I have ever even known if it wasn't for the fact that my tweezers are now blackened and destroyed on one half? Boy oh Boy...I sure hope he learned his lesson the first time!

Happy St Patty's Day

Well, I didn't exactly wake up to find my pot of gold...but I did wake up to make Kaden a great green breakfast, and it even made his milk taste better. Of course, he wanted to help me make the pancakes, he loves to stir, and help add the eggs. Sometimes, he can help me better by just watching.

We did have a good day, and I even made green cupcakes, with green frosting. Then I decided that I didn't want to eat all 18 of them, so I had Garrett take down 6 to our annoying neighbors...now hopefully they will start being more respectful. Kill them with kindness I guess, eh?

Sunday, March 14, 2010

I love Sundays.
Sundays are calm, lazy, and relaxing.
I hate that Garrett works most Sundays.

I guess I better enjoy this relaxing day before my neices get here, then it won't be so calm anymore! :) But Kaden is excited to see them...

My Little Helper

So Yesterday we were watching cartoons and Kaden saw a commercial for brownies...and he said he wanted some! So I got this bright idea to make brownies topped with caramel and mini chocolate chips! I didn't have my moms recipe, so I found one in my cookbook, and one online and kinda combined both of them. This recipe tastes delicious, but the middle of the pan didn't really cook all the way through...maybe I should have cooked them longer, or maybe add more flour. Who knows.

Kaden loves to help me bake. He always wants to crack the eggs, and dump in the flour. I got a couple of pics of him helping before I even had the bowl attached to the mixer.

I wish I would have taken a picture of the brownies, but they were delicious...for anyone wanting the recipe, you can just make any type of brownie, although cake like works better than gooey. Then for the caramel, I did...

1 cube butter
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup cream
1 tsp vanilla, and boiled for 5 minutes or so.

I poured this over slightly cooled brownies, and then once the caramel cooled a bit more I sprinkled with mini chocolate chips.

WARNING: May cause you to consume the entire pan!!!

Bathrooms should clean themselves...

So now that we are in our own place, I now have 2 bathrooms to clean instead of just 1.
Does anyone actually enjoy cleaning them? When we moved in, there was really bad hard water deposits on the shower walls, so I bought some Melaleuca Tub n Tile to work wonders...and now it looks like they are almost new.

The thing that kills me is that since Kaden has been potty trained, I have had to clean up so much more dried urine off the toilet. It doesn't matter if I clean it up right after her goes, it still seems as though there is urine hiding places that eventually finds its way to the light, dries, and begins to stink. All you moms know what I am talking about. Dried urine stinks worse than fresh urine. Its disgusting. Foul. Make me wanna vomit, nasty.

He never really sat down to use the bathroom, he just kinda learned to stand up, and so far has done a pretty good job, although once in a while he does spray more than the toilet bowl! But I swear no matter how much I clean the toilet, I still smell urine... hmm, maybe some day it will go away! (when toilets learn to clean themselves)

It pays to be pushy...

I got what I wanted. YAY!

Today while I was taking a nap, I missed a phone call from someone saying that they were going to issue me a check for $164.99 to pay for the DVR that was originally suppposed to be in my home. The thing that is confusing is that I swear we ordered our dish/internet bundle through Quest Communications, but the company that is mailing back the check isn't quest, but a retailer that deals with both companies. :/

Oh well...at least I get my DVR, like I had requested for in the beginning. I have been missing too many American Idol episodes since I usually work Tuesday nights, and I would really like to finish out the season. I haven't missed a season since I got started on it in 2007!
Dude, I totally hate customer service departments...it doesn't matter which company. They all suck.
We got a bundle through quest with internet and dish network. They charged us more for the installation than they quoted. They had the wrong receiver installed.
Now it is a disaster trying to get them to install the DVR that we wanted. Supposedly they have to listen to the phone call to see if we initially asked for it.
Does it matter? I mean, really. The price is the same, except for an additional $6 monthly fee, which we are and have been willing to pay the entire time.
We aren't asking for anything free, or refunds, or credits, just the bloody DVR... come on people seriously!
We first called Friday, they said they would review the call monday.
We called Monday, they said they haven't gotten to it. Then Tuesday we get a phone call from the salesman that sold it to us to apologize for the cost difference, that he was misinformed. I told him it was fine, if they could just come replace the receiver with the DVR, he said he would call back. No phone call yet.
We called today. No help today either... I just don't understand how there isn't one single person in that department that can help us. AHHH

New house, new problems...

So on February 26th, we moved into our new place in Idaho Falls. It is so nice having our own space, being able to decorate, and finally getting Kaden into his own bed. He had his own at my moms, but he would not sleep in it for the life of me. He would wake up in the middle of the night crying so loud until I brought him into bed with me.

He is currently using Garretts bed, which is a queen, because I don't have the money to buy him a twin...and I know he is only 3, but at least with it being bigger I don't have to worry about him falling out of it, right? hehe... He has done really well the past week in his bed. Normally I have to lay with him until he falls asleep. I think I have done that just once... I put him in it, and tell him I'm gonna check on him in 5 minutes, and when I do he is passed out. SO NICE! But, of course he has been waking up at 5 in the morning to use the bathroom, and then I hear noises, so i look and his bedroom light is on and he is just playing. So I end up falling asleep next to him for a couple hours because I am not waking up at 5!

So I worked until close on Friday, and when I come home, I opened the door to a disaster. My Microsuede chair is soaking wet, there is water dripping off the bar onto the carpet, the carpet is soaking wet, and it looks like every towel in our house is now soaking up the remains of Kadens helaciousness... oh boy
...Apparently, while Garrett was using the restroom, Kaden decided to empty the entire contents of dawn dish detergent onto the counter, and I think he tried to clean it up using the sink sprayer, but while he did he also managed to soak down the entire kitchen, chair, and part of the living room carpet. Needless to say, he was in his bedroom for 18 years (according to Garrett). He didn't stay much longer than probably 30 minutes. So we made a quick trip to walmart to buy a cheap carpet cleaner to soak up all the water that we could, and I think we did a pretty good job.

The next day I took all the towels to the Laundromat to wash them, kinda forgetting that half of them were used to clean up dawn...oh man. Bubble city. The first load was okay, there was only a few suds, so i just ran it through an extra cycle without detergent to rinse again. But the second load. Bad. Real Bad. I opened the front loader, and suds just came pouring out. What to do. Everyone is looking. I am embarrassed. I dunno what to do. So i come home and make Garrett come back to help me. We got a garbage can and emptied as much suds into that so we could at least see the towels again. Then we ran it through another wash ,without detergent, to try and rid the suds. This very nice lady told me that liquid fabric softener attacks the soap, so she gave me a little bit to use. I wouldn't have known this, because I don't used liquid softener. But it worked! And i wasn't as embarrassed anymore.

All in all....it has been such a crazy week! Moving, getting settled, cleaning, soaking up carpets, trying to prevent mold...ahhh Now if I could just relax and enjoy our new place. That would be nice!

Nobody Knows Me

So I swear that no matter what I do, nobody knows that I, or my blog, even exist. I have posted everywhere...from facebook, to myspace, to even just on here that I started a blog.

Oh well...
Guess it will come with time.

But, it is fun to get comments on your posts!! (Thanks Court for the added comments...they make me feel special!)

I love you!...how much?

...So much. How much is So? Way way more than you know!!!

So its Valentines day and Kaden and I have spent a great part of the day eating candy, talking about love, and taking pictures. Garrett has to work today until about 2 so I decided that I would surprise him with a dinner and some strawberries when he gets home. I was lucky enough to have sponge bob entertain Kaden so that I could get my dipping on...

Don't they just look delicious? I wanted the best chocolate ever, so I went to Florence's and bought some bulk chocolate by the pound and melted it in the crockpot so it would be perfect for dipping. They had some white chocolate chips that I melted and stuck in a baggy to drizzle over the top. Yum Yum Yum!!! I am also going to make chicken fettuccine alfredo for dinner, and a salad. It will be a date in the kitchen (or the basement since thats become our little private domain).

I also bought Kaden a cute little shirt and pair of undies for Valentines day so I got him all dressed up, and he just loves eating his candy and playing with his balloons.
Isn't he just so handsome? And of course, he is pantless...I can't keep pants on this kid unless we are out in public, but I promise he did have some on! They were cute little red track pants, but oh well. I hope everyone has a great Valentines day!!! Love you all!

Shew Flu, don't bother me!!

So It has been a crazy week! Last Wednesday I took Kaden into the doctor to hopefully get something to help get rid of his croupe. It worked for the most part, but then I woke up Friday morning with the stomach flu!!! OMG! I hate the stomach flu. Two years ago I remember getting it when Kaden was just one. We both had it the same day. That was horrible. It took me a couple days to recover from it.
So on Sunday, still feeling a little fluish, I decided that Kaden would have more fun at his grandma Marie's for the superbowl, and he wanted him to come really bad. This was perfect because it allowed Garrett and I to go on a date since we don't really care about football. We decided to go and see Dear John, which is fantastic, and about halfway into the movie Garrett started feeling sick. I kinda chuckled, because he was such a baby! I mean, come on...I had the flu, stayed home and took care of a 3 year old wit Croupe, did dishes, folded laundry etc, and he literally thought he was going to die! Oh well...I know he will survive!
So Superbowl was my neices 8th birthday! I can't believe it...I remember when she was born, and now she's 8!?! Thats so crazy...well im just rambling about nothing, so hopefully something exciting happens and then I'll let ya know about it :)

Kaden's Birthday...

...was just a success!! We had so much fun! The day started out with me waking up at 7:30 to get a start on decorating Kadens cake. My lovely sister who was supposed to bring decorating tips and bags to me the night before, didn't end up doing it. So my mom and I had to compromise. We found a pastry filler from pampered chef that we stuffed full of frosting and began decorating.

It was working pretty well for us, at least I didn't have to stress anymore about the tips! I was really hoping that Kaden wouldn't wake up until after we were done decorating, but unfortunately my wish didn't come true. So while we were busy decorating, he started himself on breakfast... yes that is frosting! Ha ha

I decided that since we have been living at my moms, to keep it simple, we would have the party at Leo's place. For those of you who are unfamiliar with Leo's place, it is a family fun restraunt that serves pizza, sandwiches, salads, pop, and they have arcade games, laser tag, and a fun playland. Kaden had so much fun with a handful of his cousins. To tell you the truth, I don't think any of te kids even ate pizza. They literally were out of sight the entire time. I never saw Kaden until I had to round him up to sing to him and open gifts. He was running everywhere. I am pretty sure he had fun!

Those are a few of the pictures from his bday...He had fun even tho by the end of the night I think he was done. He didn't want to sing happy birthday, it wasn't until the presents came out that we were able to get a smile out of him. I still can't believe my baby is 3!!! Time does fly!
